Issue #14 - 16th May 2009
Welcome friend,
At last, it is over. CRE has run its course and life for this battered soul can return to normal. Our reasons for exhibiting this year were to promote Saffron Planet and promote my new book, “How the Church lost The Way … and how it can find it again”. I will report on how things went for Saffy P, with our plans for the future, next week, but first … the book.
It all started with the John Pantry interview on Premier Radio, that went remarkably well, so much so that they podcasted it and emailed it to 70,000 people! Then there were the testimonies from early readers of the book, who are actually reporting of lives being changed by the book, including one very dear lady who bought nine of them and is now reading it for the second time!
Now anyone who knows me knows that I’m not into self-promotion, which is why, despite having had 6 books published, I still have neither fame nor fortune, just an average joe with a loving wife and two freeloading cats. But this book is special and I know it can actually change the way that we do Church, if those in leadership read it and started taking notice of its content. Something needs to happen – a survey this week indicated that although 70% of folk are starting to question their lives and are looking for spiritual meanings, because of the uncertainties brought about by the credit crunch – only 3% see Church as an answer and, of these who actually went to Church to look for answers, not a single one would think about going back! Something needs to change – and my book could very well give some answers!
Our shop is now launched – go to www.saffronplanetshop.com, for the book, my past books and the new series of low cost booklets we are launching. Go on, have a peek! Also this weekend I’ll be uploading an audio talking about the subject matter of the book, so give that a listen.
Got to go – my book is officially being launched in a few hours time and I’ve got two talks to prepare – and a “live” Saffron Planet session! Please pray for me today.
Many blessings
Steve
