Pagan Christianity?

A fascinating topic. I am currently reading the book Pagan Christianity that tackles this question in detail, looking at the pagan sources of so many church activities versus the New Testament 1st century meaning of 'Ekklesia'

God's church

So right ! We cannot go to church. We are church or we are not - and God has placed each of us where he wants us to be at this time to use our gifting and experience daily in our encounters. I personally believe the days of the organised church are over. At these times when the world is concentrating on 'credit crunch', let us now have ears to hear. "So do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6.31 - 34) Furthermore, we read :
'The Jews gathered round him, saying. "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly." Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice, I know them, and they follow me."
(John 10. 24-27) Man has even now not learned to wait upon the Lord but in lack of security within himself, has to rush about organising everybody and never finding that peace which passes all understanding.
This is the view of a very simple hearted woman. Praise God for his Holy Word. With Love, Enid.
